Hey hey hey, Ishes!
Ok, listen.
I have SHELVES of unread books.
I know I am not alone in that.
But, I still buy books.
Lots of them.
No shame.
ALL of my books get read. When it’s their time LOL.
So, Steve and I were out and I nonchalantly said, “Hey, let’s go to 2nd & Charles. You know….if you want to” ha!
So, there I was in a used books Wonderland. And, next thing I knew, I was checking out with some books! So, I wanted to share my haul with you!
Oh and if you have never been to 2nd & Charles, if you have one local, check it out! I was in our local one soon after it opened and it was literally the only time I went. I was so unimpressed. But, I gave it another chance a month or so ago and I am OBSESSED. In fact, I still had credit because I had traded in some books and turns out the product credit never expires! They also pay cash for books but the value is higher if you use it for credit instead.
Anyway, if they had a coffee shop and chairs in there, I would basically never leave but whatever.
So, here are the 3 books I ended up with (this is a small haul, I usually leave with 10 or more)
Let me talk you through what I got!
I bought my first ever Greg Iles book, Natchez Burning.
My friend, Jessica has been telling me regularly for like 2 months to try one of his books and I have resisted. Want to know why? His books are so dang long. Yes, I am serious! I like knocking out a book in 3-4 days max and that just isn’t happening with an 800 page book. But, I gave in. So, I guess we will see!
Next up, The Lost Girls of Paris by Pam Jenoff.
Ok, so this is 100% not a book I would pick up on my own. I have read 2 historical based loosely on a true story style fiction lately. It is not my go to but they have been a nice change. Anyway, I am in a book club FB group and the June book is The Lost Girls, and I figured, why not?
And lastly, the one I am now currently reading, The Great Alone by Krisitn Hannah.
I will admit...this book was bought out of pure adult peer pressure. Everyone is raving about this dang book and so, I caved. That happens from time to time! I am halfway through and so far, I am enjoying it. Let’s see if keeps steam!
Have you read any of these books? I would love to hear what you thought of them!
Keep embracing the ish, friends!
