Hey, Ishes! I know we all love a good life hack and I thought maybe you would enjoy a camping hack or 2 along the way! You may or may not know this about me, but I LOVE to camp! We spend A LOT of time in our camper. Every summer, much to my husband’s dismay, I set a goal to sleep in my camper more nights than I sleep in my house from Memorial day until the end of September. Three years and counting, I have crushed that goal. But, man, spending so much time in there with the lack of space made me CRAZY! Last year, I tried a few hacks to make our space more efficient. I am so excited to share with you my small camper bathroom hack!
Ok, ok. Let me be honest here. I don’t really camp. I glamp. Don’t want to mislead you into thinking that I rough it by any means! In fact, I think I said we had a bathroom...which is probably an indication that we aren’t roughing it *shrug*
We camp in a 36 foot travel trailer. It is a 2016 and doesn’t lack amenities by any means. It has a queen size master bedroom...the guy called our bed a “walk around” queen bed. Listen. I don’t know who can walk around that damn bed except for my dogs, Marshal and Geller. But, the salesman really tried to sell that feature! We have a living area within the kitchen area and a booth to seat 4. I have a hack that helped this family of 5 fit at that table. I will share that hack later! There is a bunk room for our 3 kids, it has a loft bed and then a top bunk over a pullout sofa. We thought we were so smart with the pullout sofa, we weren’t...I guess, I should blog about all of the ish I learned AFTER buying our first camper soon!
Then, we have a bathroom with a sink and small bath/shower. When my kids were small, I could fit 2 of them if they sat criss cross applesauce. But, let me tell you, and this may (is) a first world problem but the bathroom will be the death of me. Too many mornings, I bent down while spitting out toothpaste and hit my head on the medicine cabinet. I (the entire friggin famliy) was constantly knocking toothbrushes, toothpaste and whatever else was there, right into the sink.
My bathroom was in desperate need of HELP. I have a few hacks for that, but I wanted to share the one that I swear changed the entire bathroom. Ok, ok. Maybe not. But we no longer knock toothbrushes in the sink, so I call this a win!
Ok, so first I bought 5 of these toothbrush pods, I am sure there are a number of different types, but I went with these because I like the steri strips in them.
Next thing, if you don’t have these at home, grab enough Command Strips to hang each pod, you only need one strip per pod. These are the ones I use and they work perfectly!
Now, all you have to do is put the Command Strips on the back of each pod.
Then, space them out based on the toothbrush size and stick them to the side of the cabinet in your bathroom! THAT’S IT! This is such a simple and quick hack and I swear it makes me hate the lack of space in the bathroom just a little less! Here is the finished project!
I hope you liked this little hack! If you try it out, I would love to hear how it worked for you!
Keep embracing the ish, friends!
